I've been looking for an excuse to mention SuperAlisa here in the Writing Zoo. Why? Because her one liners are so sharp, unique and dripping with colloquiality that I just love 'em!
I discovered her work in a cool coffee house in Portland, OR called "Chance of Rain". Picture this: "Chance of Rain" is a collective. Pucifer was streaming insidiously from the stereo. I just dropped by to check it out. On the way out, I noticed a little box of cards by the cash register. One read "Congratulations on getting fired. Your job was killing you".
Hand written. Bitingly sarcastic. Right on,
Alisa!
I just finished watching the movie "500 Days of Summer" at our local indie theater, the Enzian. It's about a guy who wanted to become an architect, but wound up working at a greeting card company. Worth seeing.
So are Alisa's cards.
