Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland is pleased to welcome Alan Senauke to the store to discuss and sign The Bodhisattva's Embrace on Sunday, February 13 at 3pm.
Of The Bodhisattva's Embrace, Joanna Macy writes: "For friends and followers of the Dharma, this collection illumines the promise of our practice and its relevance to our world today. Shorn of sentimentality and electric with caring, Alan Senauke is a trustworthy guide. His essays serve me both as reports from the field and inspirational reading."
Alan Senauke is vice-abbot of Berkeley Zen Center, and serves as head of practice (tanto) there, where he lives with his wife, Laurie, and their two children. Alan is a Soto Zen priest and teacher in the tradition of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. He was ordained by Sojun Mel Weitsman in 1989.
