Whether he's pointing out poison ivy, pontificating on poke sallet, crooning about creasy greens, jiving about ginseng, predicting the weather with a persimmon seed, or extolling the virtues of dandelions, herbalist, author and storyteller, Doug Elliott is known for his lively presentations as well as his broad, practical, scientific and cultural knowledge of the area's many useful wild plants.
Elliott will lead us on a fun ramble around one of our local natural areas focusing on the medicinal, edible, and otherwise useful and interesting wild plants - their botany, natural history and folklore, as well as their traditional and contemporary uses. We will also pay attention to the birds, insects, and other critters that texture our outdoor experiences.
