Some of you may remember Bruce from the McRorie Community Garden. Don't worry. He hasn't passed away! He's just moved on. Hope he comes back sometime. I loved his patch. He had climbers that covered the sides of the unique, fencelike structure he put up surrounding his garden.

Bruce was into raw food. You'll hear him describing "Survival into the 21st Century" in the video above. Bruce would visit the garden with a bowl and a bottle of Bragg's Liquid Amino. He'd have his dinner right there!

You may have to turn up your volume a little to hear Bruce. I recorded it using my cellphone! Bruce grew some amazing stuff. His patch was two down from Ron Chandler's. We'll get to Ron next post.

Bruce is a Garden Pioneer because he turned his little patch at McRorie into a raw foodist's mecca. It was a sight to behold. Lordy, you wouldn't believe the size of the loofah's he grew! He told me loofahs tasted just like zucchini when they were small. Sure enough, they do!
