Dear folks,
Just a reminder that tomorrow night's 6 p.m. commission meeting on meal limits is extremely important. The outcome will affect
the Interfaith Hospitality Network, all places of religious assembly in Gainesville, and the ability of hungry people to access meals. Failure to repeal these limits will be a major blow to our First Amendment right to practice our religious and spiritual beliefs. We need to fill the auditorium.
Here is the good news. Meal limits are the only topic being considered at this meeting. It will be brought up right at 6 p.m. We will not have to sit there for hours listening to discussions of easements and zoning codes.
Michael Stoops, community organizer for the National Coalition for the Homeless, has come down to Gainesville from Washington, D.C. to be at this meeting and speak on our behalf. It's that important!
