Dangerously organic!
Wekiva Spring is a delightful place to go here in central Florida. It's on the fringe of Orlando and a sight more fun than the theme parks, or a great alternative once you've ridden the rides.
My friends Christian and Debbie came down from the cold northeast to visit. The first place I thought to take them was Wekiva Spring.
I love it there because the water stays a constant temperature. It's not warm, but it's do-able. Year round!
We paddled in the canoes the Wekiva Spring folks have for rent. That's also nice because you don't have to worry about taking your own boat. They're cheap (about $10/hr) and they never seem to run out of 'em.
Wekiva Spring is drop dead gorgeous. There is flora and fauna that will excite even the most seasoned nature lover. And, yes there are alligators.
This is a photo I took of an alligator on that afternoon. Debbie said "OK, we're done" and we of course had to obey and turn around. It was exciting!

I strongly recommend a visit the next time you're in the swamp!
