This Liatris tenuifolia is one that I seeded in my primary restoration area. They are like fireworks that bloom from the bottom up. These colors are painted on the landscape and out do anything crayola can do. Especially when you can observe all of the native insects (metalic bees, butterflies, sit-and-wait spiders etc.) The gopher tortoise also take a liking to these wonderful perennials. Restoration is one seed at a time.
