HFCS Controversy

On the one hand, Huffington says HFCS is bad. On the other, HFCSFacts says even the FDA says HFCS is OK.
I remember vividly spending an evening with my friend Jem at the Hawthorne Hostel in Portland, listening to him extol the evils of HFCS. Since then, I've wondered whether it was true. Everywhere I look, I see HFCS.

HFCS Coca-cola tastes horrible- and it's pretty much a US thing- not to say that Coke here is nice, but Coke in the USA is nasty, and also linked with obesity. Is rampant protectionism of corn farmers in the US worth it?
