Hybrids, heirlooms, and everything else!

Certain characteristics are promoted in hybrid plants, like one ear of corn per stem. Heirlooms often emphasize nutrition, flavor and variety, often overlooked in commercial agriculture which might stress productivity and tolerance.

I watch Sh'mal collect collard green and Daikon radish seeds to reuse for the next crop. He'll take them to Seattle, but I have some and they will live on in our garden after he moves!
