Hello Mike:
Sorry, I missed your question. We, Conservation Initiative for the Asian Elephant, help urban and rural farmers in India grow food, develop sustainable local economies, while respecting the original land-holders: elephants, rhinos and tigers. Plants such as Jatropha, Patchouli, and native citrus are wonderful "cash crops" and also repell elephants. A wide hedgerow of one or more of these species can protect elephants from people and vise versa, while providing diversified cultivation and income for the farmer. Some of the money saved and made through these practices is invested in elephant habtitat acquisition and restoration. Thanks for asking!
