Meteors, Winter Planting, Bikes, Hikes, Flights and more!

A twisty maze of passages, this random walk is, so hang in there while we casually start the day with a few things to think of. Thanks to Swami Worldtraveler for pointing out the photo above. It's taken at a recent launch and found on an Air Force website, according to the credit. Crystal clear! This is our Space…

CHANGING MARY’S DIAPER

Mary was frail, so weak she could barely get to the potty near her bed without help. When I came into her room to see how she was doing, she was lying, prone in bed, her knees, slightly bent up; her face, a bit ashen from not eating well and sickness, but still with her glowing, smile, so familiar to me. Having…

Kid with a New Bike! (updated)

This is my new bike! It's en route to me now. It's a Rivendell Bleriot. I predict many fun times to come with it. Rivendell is a company founded

by Grant Peterson, of Bridgestone fame. This Bleriot is a relaxed townie

style bike. It's agile and has a 10 gear cassette with 3 sprockets in

front, for a total of 30 speeds!

There's…

Sandlewood and Porcelain

A Great Day at the Garden

Another sleepless night

A concrete paradise

Sirens screaming in the heat

Neon cuts the eye

As the jester sighs

At the world beneath his feet

It's a gutter ballet

Just a menagerie

Still the orchestra plays

On a dark and lonely night

To a…

STORIES FROM THE STREETS

"Simon"
"Simon" has been living in the homeless community for about two years. His presence there has been a mystery. He seems to have none of the problems that ordinarily result in homelessness.

Gradually, we discovered that he is an ordained minister and is

quietly assisting certain invidividuals who need help, often the most

vulnerable and confused. I started to ask him to help out, here…
