The neighborhood around the garden is filled with living, loving people. Jon Trunk watered his patch (in the picture above) yesterday while his wife Pam and their newborn baby relaxed across the street in their new home. I spoke with Kali, another neighbor, as I watered my patch and heard him excitedly say he'd stayed up all night the night before after Obama's win was announced.
All the patches show growth and most have harvestable plants. I took some collard greens home with me to share with Carla. Carla, I'm looking forward to reading about freezing collard and other greens Micanopy-style, as you described yesterday.
Ron and I hope to pick up the Earth Machine in the next day or so from Joy, who has offered to give it to us at the McRorie Garden. Ron's busy preparing for a trip to Nepal and India, leaving in a week or so for a few weeks of excitement in aid of Asian Elephants. See his page for details. Pretty commendable and fascinating work.
Sh'mal checked in via email after receiving a copy of the picture above of Jon Trunk I sent him via email in Seattle. He says he's happy Obama got elected.
There's a fun run 5K on Friday in aid of African nation Malawi. I'll add it to the Events section - for details check
http://runningforwater.com/ There's some good music on the page you'll hear when you surf there!
And, so it goes...
Stay tuned!
