Dangerously organic!

Do you do any form of Qi Gong? I first learned about Qi Gong at the Seaside Hostel in Oregon. I arrived one day and saw a note at the front desk that said "Qi Gong 9:00 AM for anyone interested - free!"

Trung (above, rightmost) led the group of us the next morning. She explained that Qi Gong was the alphabet and Tai Chi was the language.

Here's what the Wu Ji poster says:

Lift up, press down

Draw in, push away

Pull in. push to sides

Pull in. push up

Push in to front / sides

Sunrise, sunset

Hip circles

Knee circles

Wind mills

Rowing the boat

Archer pulls bow

Stirring the pot

Two rams butt heads

Climbing the ladder

Combing horses mane

Half horse drop

Tiger embraces mountain

Repulse monkey

Bear

Swan

Stork lands on pond

Holding the barrel

Pushing clouds

Bamboo in wind

Ape swings through trees

Fire hands

Holding the ball

Throwing the net of joy

Ball press

Combing your halo

Storage sounds

Standing stake

Lotus hands

These moves are a good way to warm up your body in the morning. Trung showed us many similar Qi Gong exercises. She combined the exercises with a narrative that drew from her experiences from a long history of learning martial arts.

Enjoy!

Yes, it is cool, Cynthia - and it's a little more interesting than just stretching because you are thinking of something in nature while you stretch. It was so cool learning it with Trung and the hostelers by the inter-coastal waterway in Seaside, OR. Trung is a member here on Zoobird and you can find her hostel on Facebook and it has it's own web page, too.

That's pretty cool!  I've always wanted to try it.  Looks like a good form of stretching to start off the day.
