Dangerously organic!
I ran across this site and it occurred to me that a good garden could use a nice sundial.

Jim,Thanks for the post! It occurred to me we don't have a sundial at the garden. I've always loved sundials, especially since our concept of time is derived from the sun. So, this is a great idea. I think first we'll make something as an experiment to see what the best type of sundial might be. I looked at the site you linked to (a Togo domain, no less!) and did not see anything describing how to make your own sundial. I'm sure there are do it yourself (DIY) articles out there on the web. If you see one, it would be nice if you'd post it here as a comment. A sundial would be educational and useful. We have only the most basic things at the garden: water spigots and trash pickup. We have no electricity, so there are no clocks. Yes, we could use a battery powered clock, but that would not be very feng shui, would it? Do you see any in California community gardens? I think it's a perfect idea to enhance the natural aspects of McRorie Community Garden. Plus, we're coming up to the 3rd anniversary of Zoobird. A celebration is in the planning stages. Maybe we'll unveil a sundial at the party. Best, Mike
