I absolutely loved the Manzanita succession story. It's a fact of nature that perfectly demonstrates the natural balance of things. Fire destroys and from that destruction the tiniest bit of life allows the forest to flourish once again. It makes you see how far humans sit from natural destruction and man-made destruction, the likes of which are difficult to recover from.
