Dangerously organic!

Gardening in McRorie is a wonderful gift! The veggies and the people are fantastic: Maura; Dave and Jeanny (spl?); Shamal, Bob, Bruce, Blake, Mary and Ku, John and his wife, Jessica, Jeffery, Joel, Nicole, and you - I am sure I have forgotten someone - but truly an amazing group of thoughtful people!
Ok, so a bit about water:
Working with/and on behalf of water for ~30 years has taught me a couple things, 1) folks rarely miss the water until the well runs dry, and 2) it's running dry.

If you can smell water in an agricultural environment, it is being wasted.
Fan, whirl, pop-up, pivot, and pulse ("slap") sprinklers waste a lot of water. If water is dispersed throught the air, and especially if it falls atop the leaves and stems, over 95% evaporates before reaching the roots.
If you water by hand, deliver water slowly and at the base and-or drip line of the plant. The most water-conserving methods for our gardens are dew collectors; soaker hoses; drip lines and micro-drip systems. For examples of soaker and micro-drips see John's garden (or mine); which brings me to the 'invitation'.

One late afternoon, Saturday or Sunday of June or [poss] early-July, I would be pleased to demonstrate the fit, form and function, installation and maintenance of inexpensive, automated soaker and micro-drip systems. If we have 10 certain attendees, we will have the "class". Those that attend, will receive a 50 ft of soaker hose with fittings. Please let me know.
Thanks to everyone for gardening and being who you are!
Peace,
Ron

Most home irrigation systems are sprinklers. Water conserving methods make sense. I wonder if the irrigation industry is moving toward more efficient methods and, if not, why not.

I'd be interested in the demo.

Thanks for the information.

Great Mike, thanks. I saw that David is interested also. What weekends work best for you?
Thanks,
Ron
Ron,

June 13th is the weekend of Sh'mal's party! So, that would be my vote, since we'll definitely be in town that weekend. I'll also be available June 20th. I'm in Texas the weekend of the 26th and in Melbourne on July 4th weekend for a housewarming. But, I could come up to McRorie Garden any day of the July 4th weekend except the 5th, which is the day of the housewarming.

This is going to be great! I predict we'll all want to change the way we irrigate after your talk!

Regards,

Mike
Good morning Mike:
The afternoon of Friday the 13th anytime after 2p would work best for me. However, I believe that I can make most anytime during the day available on Saturday14th if that is better for everyone.
Have a good Friday!
Ron
Ron,

That sounds good to me! I'll wait to see if that works for David and Genie. I wish I were in town. I'd put a note up on the bulletin board at McRorie so people at the garden would know.

It's going to be a great class! I can't wait!

Regards,

Mike
Genie and I would love to attend the "class". That's 2 attendees!

David
Hi David: Thank you for your interest. What weekends and afternoons work best for you?

Id also like to join! If I haven't missed out?
Hi Bob:

If we chose Saturday, we could make certain that we are all done in time to go home, clean up and attend you party.
Take care,
Ron
So...Ron and Bob and David:

There's still time for us all to vote on a best time for Ron's presentation. Either day works for me and it looks like Friday afternoon is best for Ron, after 2. I think it would be nice for us all to go to the party Saturday together from the garden.

Why don'e we reply to this message with our thoughts and try to decide today.

It's going to be fun!

Regards,

Mike
I m free to meet at the garden whenever you like. I m not sure If I will be able to attend the party after words.

Also looking forward to it!

Bob
